About Me

Hey there! I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name's Evandro, I'm from Brazil, and currently enrolled in the engineering bachelors degree program in UK. I had also the opportunity to live in different countries and study in various universities, which has given me a unique perspective on the world.

Throughout my journey, I have come to realize that engineering is not just about solving complex problems or designing innovative solutions. It is a field that requires a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental aspects that shape our world. By combining my technical knowledge with a holistic approach, I strive to create sustainable and inclusive solutions that can positively impact communities. Engineering has taught me the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and continuous learning. It has pushed me to think critically and find creative ways to address the ever-evolving challenges we face. My ultimate goal is to contribute actively to the advancement of sustainable and eco-friendly technologies.

From Philosophy to Engineering

How does someone with a background in the Humanities and Philosophy field like mine end up choosing Engineering as their current focus? You might be wondering how I went from studying human-related subjects to diving into the world of engineering. Well, throughout my academic journey, I've always had a deep passion for understanding how things work. Whether it's the human mind or the inner mechanisms of machines, I've always been naturally curious.

Even though my early academic pursuits weren't directly related to engineering, I excelled in subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics. I come from a family of home builders, so I grew up surrounded by tools and problem-solving techniques. Fun fact: I used to open up my toys just to see how they were built! My engineering desires have been with me since childhood.

Exploring the World of Engines

As I grew older, my fascination with engines grew stronger. I've always found the operation of engines, whether in cars, trains, or airplanes, to be a magical experience. To satisfy my curiosity, I started working on my own projects. One of my earliest projects was adapting a 2-stroke lawn mower engine onto a bicycle, its name is Primus 2000. It wasn't just about the engine itself; I had to modify and assemble various components to make it work. This hands-on experience taught me the importance of assembling and synchronizing parts to create a functioning machine.

Since then, I've continued to explore the world of engines. I've opened up motorcycles and cars to understand their inner workings, and I've even fixed some malfunctions along the way.

My additional interests when I am free

Other things I love to do when I'm not busy with engineering stuff are hike little mountains with my dogs, playing the saxophone, F1 racing simulator, cycling, and practising speed skating. I'm actually part of the British federation for speed skating and I even compete in championships on the weekends! It's super fun and keeps me active.

Thanks for reading!

Best Regards,

Evandro Primon
